Quadruple Rooney

United 4-0 Hull

This is the only one Premier League would be play this weekend. The others will be focus on FA 4th Round engagement. A win can move United top, temporarily. Great to see Ferdinand back in starting line up.

United: Van Der Sar, Rafael, Ferdinand (C), Evans, Evra, Nani, Scholes, Fletcher, Park, Rooney, Owen.

1st Half: United start viciously. Owen-Rooney partnership showed they have decent chemistry. Rooney porched the rebound to get United ahead. Credit to Scholes for the early attempt to force Myhill made an untidy saved. Numbers of chances arrived later, but Owen especially, failed to to bury it.  The  game was  one -sided game though The Tigers showed a real determination to keep the contest alive.

2nd Half: United keep attacking the visitor to search the 2nd goal. But the visitor look pleased to wait chance to hit United on break. Berbatov and Gibson in Owen and Scholes. The English pair looked alive and contributed well but United need a fresh legs to ensure the 3 points. Finally, Rooney showed his classy side of him. Great strike from 15 yards and close range header, eliminated Hull hope to salvage anything from this tie. The game was set, Ferguson opted to preserve Evra for the next 2 crucial games. Fabio in to join his brother. for couple of minutes And Rooney not finish yet. After received a good ball from Berbatov, he controlled the ball greatly before buried it for the 4th in dying minutes. Icing on the cake.

United go top, equal the goal difference with Arsenal and Chelsea, and sweetly Rooney lead the goals chart. What a satisfying game. Glory Glory Man Utd.

The only setback for me was, Selangor heavily defeated 4-0 at Kuala Trengganu.
