P1 W1MAX -Potong sajalah..

The tune are quiet catchy and all TV viewers will notice it.

P1 W1MAX made an entrance a couple of months ago and introduce a new technology, what so called Worldwide Interoperability for Microwave Access (WiMAX) -The 4th Generation of Broadband Network.


I've got opportunity to observe and testing the service few days ago. This is my brief evaluation about W1MAX.

Speed: Obviously greater than any other ISP (the basic plan: 400 Kbps download /150 Kbps upload)
Coverage: At this moment, poorer than any other. You can check your location availability here. (But honestly, im not really trust that!)
Stability: Poorer than Streamyx, on par of Maxis, Celcom and Digi.
Value for the money: They cant beat Streamyx yet, but still, on par of Maxis, Celcom and Digi.

Overall Verdict:

• If you are looking for portable service and basic usage of internet, W1MAX can be better alternative than Maxis, Celcom or Digi.
• If you obsessed with downloading and online gaming, W1MAX are not for you. They offer no stability compare to Streamyx.
• If you are living in remote or kampung area, W1MAX definitely are not for you. They will improve their coverage in future though.

Having said that, P1 W1MAX offer a better technology than others and will be great option in future.
