83rd Academy Awards - Quick Films Review Part I

These are the films on 83rd Academy Awards nomination that I've already watched (the others will coming later):

Rabbit Hole
It's an emotional ride. A couple (Kidman and Eckhart) start to strain their marriage after they lost their only beloved son. Overall, this film had a slow pace and melodramatic. Strong performance by Kidman, justified her nomination for The Best Actress. Outside chances to win it but in my opinion Portman is too strong for her.

Black Swan
A black thriller film about talented and obsessed ballet dancer. Aronofsky have a shout for The Best Director. Portman is out -standing and a strong candidate for The Best Actress. And I wonder why Kunis didn't get a nomination for The  Best Supporting Actress because she's amazing too. The 'mind -fucking' film, nice pace, and great ending. (Parental guide: 18 sx)

Inception
Another 'mind -fucking' film, but if you watched /read a lot of Japanese anime /manga, you'll know where the main idea of this film coming from (entering a dream space and sharing a dream). This kind of film worth a watch more than once. Great film and I love it, but not a contender for major awards.

The King's Speech
Beautiful film about King of England, to overcome his stamming problem. The strong favourite to win all major awards, including The Best Picture. If you love history, you'll love and appreciate more this film.

Winter's Bone
It's slow and dull, but for some its beautiful. Lawrence have an outside chance to The Best Actress, her young age might be a little advantage for the juries to consider.

The Kids Are Alright
A story about American Lesbian family. It's supposed to be funny, but the theme are quite distasteful for me (Parental guide: 18 sx)

The Social Network
Inspiring story about invention of Facebook. 2nd Favourite behind The King's Speech to win major awards. The pace, acting, plots are well -written.

127 Hours
True Story about Aron Ralston, a rock climber trapped by a boulder in Robbers Roost, Utah, for more than five days in 2003. Very inspiring. Begin with beautiful scenery but end with an eery image. Franco have strong shout for The Best Actor.
